And in a candid look at Simon’s previous Christmas days, Tony told The Mirror: ‘Long before Eric came along, Simon’s Barbados Christmas Day would read: Get up at 2pm, breakfast of spinach smoothie, toast and honey, and tea. 3pm, jet-ski for hour. 4pm, sunbathe then nap. 9.30pm, Christmas dinner (roast chicken, not turkey). Simon is a creature of habit.

Hinting at Simon’s particular ways, he added: ‘If you spend Christmas with him, be prepared to fit into his schedule.’

Revealing that their mother used to have to ‘drag’ him out of bed on the big day, he added of Simon’s strict itinerary: ‘I don’t blame him: Simon’s schedule is close to crazy.’

Simon has been pictured enjoying a luxurious holiday in the Caribbean, displaying his visibly slimmer frame during the sun-soaked outing, after vowing to overhaul his lifestyle and go on a health kick.

This comes after he opened up about his ‘near death’ experience recently.

In the candid interview, the media mogul also admitted that he ‘thought he was dead’ when he first woke up following a fall down the stairs in October, which resulted in him missing the X Factor opening shows.

Speaking of his recent fall at home, which saw him slip down the stairs at night as he went to fetch some milk, the media admitted he ‘thought he was dead’ when he awoke.

‘It’s kind of embarrassing. I went down to get some milk, which isn’t very rock and roll, because I was feeling a little bit lightheaded. I fell down the staircase, woke up, I thought I was dead first of all. I swear to god.’

Simon, who later discovered he had been suffering from low blood pressure, continued: ‘As I woke up one of the guys in the room with me, Ben, who’s worked with me for years, was the first face I saw and I thought,

‘This wasn’t my idea of heaven’. We both thought I’d broken my neck.’
